Memories Of Hilltop High School Class of 1962 DOUBLE click onto the You Tube START button to run Video.
You will have to play it a second time in order for the video to
run smoothly. During the first run your computer is loading up
the streaming video, this causes the video to start and stop a few
times.
This is a video clip of the Hilltop High School class
of 2007 doing a PEP rally
in the amphitheater in back of the gym. The theme of the pep
assembly is
JAMES BOND....007. The reason this theme was picked is because
this is the
class of 2007 which shortens to 007. Take a look at what our next
generation
is doing at our school today. DOUBLE click on start button
to run video.
This video plays smoothly the first
time around.
YOU HAVE TO CLICK ON THE

VISIT JOAN KEYES' WEBSITE...(Now, it's Joan Wyllie) .
WHAT A TERRIFIC WEBSITE AND THERE'S A PICTURE OF
JOAN AND SHE LOOKS LIKE A MOVIE STAR. WOW !
VISIT JAMES BANNER'S
WEBSITE. CLICK ON HIS PICTURE BELOW
Now, this is
absolutely GREAT ! Everyone needs to watch this video
that James Banner made with his older brother Harry Banner.
Do you remember Harry Banner from the Hilltop Class of 1960.
Harry played trumpet in the marching band. But,
anyhow, Jim has created this autobiography video snapshot of
his life growing up in Chula Vista. THIS IS A MUST
SEE! The video editing is outstanding, Jim Banner
should get an academy award. Click on the IMAGE LINK
BELOW to watch Jim and his brother Harry discuss their lives
growing up Chula Vista.
Click on the
picture of Craig Higgs to visit his website.
When Craig graduated from Hilltop, he entered law
school, and passed his bar exam and is still practicing
law in San Diego. Visit his webpage. Craig
has a great looking website. I think he should
have run for president back in 1994. Things would
be better today if he had.
DOUBLE CLICK on the START button and watch the Chula
Vista Jr. High School Marching band back in the 1950's,
the Fiesta De La Luna Parade, the Lancer Marching Band,
and even the Spartan Marching band. But, the best
part at the end are the lancerettes, flag corps, and the
baton twirlers. The best part of every football
game was watching the baton twirlers at half time.
Double click on the START button and go back into
time and check out the great cars that we grew up with
while attending Hilltop High School. Check out
Bob Hargrove's woody station wagon, Craig Higg's 58
chevy impala, Ronnie Hawkins 32 Ford Coup Hot Rod.....and
Jerry Holmes' 1950 Studebaker.

Bob Proctor, Vaughan Benson, Lonnie Lee, Robin
Larson on the Oregon coast during a March, 2006
reunion of friends.
Watch the video of Robin Larson,
Lonnie Lee, Vaughn Benson, and Bob Proctor as Robin
tells us about their trip up the Oregon coast.
In this 5 minute
video you get to hear Robin Larson and John Axsom
discuss the 1962 Hilltop Cheerleading squad.
The
members of the Hilltop High School Class of 1962 are
now, ironically, 62 years old. This song by
Tom Rush captures the way many of us in the class of
1962 are feeling. HA HA HA

Year 2007 -
La Bella Pizza House today: Do you
remember all of the times you went to La Bella
Pizza House with your friends. Maybe it
was after a football game on a Friday night, or
perhaps it was just a good place to take your
date on a weekend. Photo supplied by
Dennis Driscoll. Thanks Dennis.
Wasn't there
a little music record shop in that yellow store
next to La Bella's Pizza GArden. I used to
buy 45 RPM records there all of the time.
I can't think of the name of that store...can
you? If you can.... E-mail John:
jaxsom@satx.rr.com
And, wasn't
Niederfrank's Ice Cream shop used to be located
in the blue building next to La Bella's Pizza
Garden? So, what was your favorite ice
cream cone? Mine was "RAINBOW
SHERBET". E-mail me your favorite ice
cream cone.

Year 2007 -
Vogue Theater today: How many times did you
stand in line to walk up to the ticket window and
pay 25 cents so that you could watch 2 full length
motion picture shows of Johnny MacBrown and Bob
Steele, plus 2 cartoons. Remember sitting on
the front row and getting a headache.
Hey...remember sitting through those two full length
movies and the two cartoons, and then walking
outside into the bright sunlight. Those were
the days. How about spending the entire
saturday afternoon at the Chula Vista plunge which
was 50 percent water and 50 percent chlorine.
Remember how blood shot your eyes were because of
all the exposure to chlorine and reflected light off
of the water. Those were the days. By
the way, the Vogue theater is closed today,
everybody is watching YouTube...Ha ha ha ha ha...

by Dennis Driscoll. Thanks Dennis. If
anyone else has present day photos of Chula Vista,
or photos from the past please E-mail them to John:

CLICK TWO TIMES SLOWLY ON THE ARROW TO GET THIS
VIDEO TO RUN.
Part One
of a 35 minute interview with Werner Prigge
Foreign Exchange Student from Bremen, Germany
This
video clip is rather slow loading up. There are
two ways to handle this. First, just let the video play
through, and then the second time you play it the video
will run smoothly. You have to let it load up in
your computer first, before it will play smoothly a
second time. The other method which is faster is
to let it load for the first few minutes and then push
the movement circle back to the beginning so that you
can listen smoothly as the newer data streams into your
computer.
COMING ATTRACTIONS:

AND MANY MORE CLASSMATE PICTURES,
WEBPAGES, AND VIDEOS.
The next video
project I am going to do is focused on the teachers that
we had at Hilltop High School. What I want you to
do is to think of a memorable moment that you
experienced with a specific teacher back in High School.
Maybe it was a word of encouragement, or perhaps it was
some advice that was given to you. But, whatever
it was.....E-mail me your experience and I would like to
include it in the next video.
